Giving thanks is a daily ritual of mine. As such, I decided that I would like to blog about something I’m passionate about and in doing so perhaps it may help just one person who is feeling down, to put a smile….if ever so slightly on their face.

These bi-weekly posts are meant to resonate and inspire. I plan on using my own life’s experiences as my cliff to jump off. Occasionally, I shall re-post from inspirational sayings that fit in with my own experiences. Being grateful!

I like to think that your home is your sanction. Even more so given these days where we are spending so much time here. This home is where you hang your hat so when I say home, I say it in the broadest term…as it is wherever you live. Your place for relaxation and enjoyment. It could be that sometimes I give thanks for my home. For the shelter it thus far has provided. A chance to express gratitude for MY home rather than the perfect home.

Unlike the many homes we have seen for sale and disparage the counter tops, bathroom tile or size of the backyard. Where is the reminder that we should be so lucky as to have lived in a state of acquisition rather than sacrifice?

This thankfulness can extend to de-cluttering a home. I live in a small home and try to use my space as efficiently as possible. That being said, if I buy a piece of furniture, accessory for my home, or new clothing, I like to discard another, but give thanks to that item before discarding it, and by discarding, I do so in the form of donating it. What a wonderful feeling that is!
